“We might as well settle in here until the others get back or it strikes midnight – whichever comes first.” He props his legs up on the table and lounges back into the sofa. Claiming extra space, his arm and leg brush against mine and I feel veritable sparks pass between us.
“On a totally separate note, I can’t believe that I’ve had your phone number for more than 24 hours and still haven’t asked you out.” Mogran says with mock laziness.
“Are you sure this is the best time to do this? I mean, you want to ask me out after using your Jedi mind tricks on me last night?” I turn slightly so that I can copy his pose and settle deep into the sofa beside him. I can feel the heat from his body close to mine, it’s driving me wild.
“Sure, why not? I mean, if I don’t try to get on your good side before midnight you’ll be more powerful than I will ever be so I’d better work on you while I still can.” He turns his head to look at me without moving the rest of his body. The entire length of my left side is lightly touching his right and our faces aren’t very far apart. I laugh and turn my head forward again resting my head on the back of the couch.
“Well?” He asks, expecting me to answer.
“What makes you think that I would want to go out with a crazy person who believes in witches and spells?” I keep my leyes trained on the ceiling, studying the ornate tile work and trying to be perceived as aloof.
“Because you like my abs.” Morgan says matter-of-factly as I burst out laughing.
